BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The HRIS Analyst will ensure the integrity, accuracy and proper use of HR information retrieved from the systems.  The HRIS Analyst I will also act as a liaison with the HR functional teams and IT technical team, support the HR team with technology and reporting requests. This individual will also develop, maintain and complete management reports and statistical information within prescribed timeframes.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recommends and implements process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes. 
  • Serves as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll) to document business requirements, implement and test changes, and audit outputs from multiple systems.
  • Uses project management skills in managing projects. Assists in the requirements gathering, creating of user test scripts, testing and implementation of new projects and enhancements. May provide overall project management for a given HR initiative.
  • Position Management - Manages positions within the organization.  Monitors movements and creation of new positions.  Reports on open positions and creation of new positions weekly or ad hoc as needed. 
  • Provides support for HRIS, including researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements and audit reporting/research.
  • Writes, maintains and supports a variety of complex reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools. Develops standard reports for ongoing customer needs.
  • Maintains data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
  • Reviews the quarterly release documents, completes testing and implementation of release and patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Documents process and results.
  • Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains teams on new processes and functionality. Trains new system users.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Through classes, reading, or other mechanisms, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.
  • Administrative tasks as needed
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
  • Participate in projects and performs additional duties as required.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Analytics or related experience is required.
  • A minimum five years HR Operations experience is required.
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience with SuccessFactors or other HRIS systems preferred
  • 2 years of experience with system analysis and analytics preferred.
  • Extensive MS Excel experience analyzing data and using VLOOKUP to compare multiple systems data
  • Basic cloud based system configuration skills preferred. 

 

SKILLS:

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities, and provide problem analysis and resolutions at the strategic level is required.
  • Advanced level MS Office skills are required; including experience with SharePoint.
  • Proficient using 3rd party reporting tools and HRIS reporting tools preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Attention-to-detail and strong analytical skills is required.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills required.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of information systems development and implementation, as well as knowledge of business processes and applications. ?  
  • Must have strong problem-solving techniques and be able to effectively present information and facilitate discussions.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, but also be a team player. ? Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to collaborate with functional teams as well as working effectively as a team member.
  • Creative with suggesting enhancements that align with our strategy.
  • Strong process and system skills.
  • Proficiency with numbers and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong team work, excellent follow-through, with verbal and written communication skills.
